Singer Ricky Martin has become the father of twin boys born to a surrogate mother, his publicist says.
Martin, 36, best known for his song “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” didn’t reveal the boys’ names or the location of their births, but said they are healthy, People Magazine reported Wednesday.
“The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky’s full-time care,” a spokesman for Martin said in a statement. “Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children.”

Doesn’t that header sound a lot like the name of an imminent game show? Well, that’s what it feels like when the blogosphere goes bananas over the latest is-he-or-isn’t-he. How many times have you scoped out some hottie on IMDB and then looked at the forum underneath? Nine times outta ten, there’s always the “Is he GAY?!?!” thread. And I’m all for curiosity and all…
Anyway, today’s latest victim is none other than NKOTB’s Jonathan Knight.

Rachel Maddow Gets Her Own TV Show
August 20, 2008 by James Hipps · Leave a Comment
Rachel Maddow, who has been talking and debating politics on MSNBC so often, you may think it’s her show, now has one.
The commentator and host of Air America, will be taking over the 9 p.m. slot following Keith Olbermann, who she often is a subs for on “Countdown.” Olbermann broke the news in what he called a “fully authorized leak” on the website Daily Kos.
Maddow, 35, is now busting into what has commonly been referred to as the boys club at the network, led by Olbermann and Chris Matthews. MSNBC has often been accursed of sexist coverage, especially during the Democratic primaries earlier this year. Maddow, who lives with her girlfriend Susan Mikula in Manhattan and Northampton, Mass., may also be the first openly gay woman to host a prime-time program, which is set to debut September 8th.
Congrats Rachel! We love you!
Gay on the Range: An Archive of Gay Art

History is written by the victors. They choose what will be remembered, and what covered up. So it has been with male eros. Looking at any history textbook, one would think that never has a society praised love between men, never has a painter, a poet or a pope shared his bed and his heart with another male. Evidence of same-sex love has been either quietly suppressed, as with the Greeks and Romans, or quickly destroyed, as is still done with newly unearthed Inca and Mayan art. The result of this deception has been a needless polarization of society and untold suffering for those people who happen to fall in love with others of their own sex.
Uncensored, the historical record reveals an opposite reality: the male love instinct is a universal constant. Only society’s attitude towards it has varied. All cultures have regulated male love, weaving varied tapestries of ritual around it. And a few have tried - to no avail - to regulate it out of existence.
Yes, and even here, in the U.S.A., and even back in the 50’s and 60’s when women still were considered best as housewives and people of color were segregated from the white, there was a collection of gay reading. Small as it was, it was there…check out some of the covers here.
