In a very rare public ceremony, over 100 mormans announce their resignation from the church climbing the same hill their founder did and shouting Freedom. The stand comes after several members take issue with discrepancies in the morman faith including that of gay marriage.
“Among the reasons cited by those resigning are the church’s political activism against gay marriage and doctrinal teachings that conflict with scientific findings or are perceived as racist or sexist. Others cite inconsistencies in the Mormons …”
As the church spends fortunes on commercials and billboards around the country in support of Romney’s campaign, they may find their political activism has other consequences as well.
